WHAT KIND OF HORSE IS FIRST IMPRESSION?
First Impression is a Wielkopolski (Polish Warmblood) horse and was born and bred in Poland. The Wielkopolski was developed by crossing two now extinct Polish breeds, the Pozan and the Mazury, so it is also referred to as the Mazursko-Poznanski.
WHAT ARE THE BREED CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POLISH WARMBLOOD?
Although not a well-known breed worldwide, they are most commonly used as sport horse because of their even temperament, comfortable and rhythmic gaits, and hardiness. Their athleticism makes them ideal for use in show jumping and eventing. They also make suitable dressage mounts.
WHY WAS HIS POLISH NAME (BOSMAN) CHANGED TO FIRST IMPRESSION?
As is common when horses are imported to the United States, First Impression was given an American name when he was registered with the United States Equestrian Federation. He is registered with the Polish Horse Breeders Association (PZHK) as Bosman.
HOW LONG HAS FIRST IMPRESSION BEEN IN THE UNITED STATES?
First Impression was imported in spring of 2016. His sale was brokered by Euro Horse Imports and he was imported by First Blue, LLC in Bridgehampton, NY. He was sold to a junior rider in Michigan where he competed at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival before he finally made his way to Marsha Hartford Sapp's farm in Florida where he was sold to JamieLynne Weiss and Jerry Phillips in January 2020.
